2010 Hours
Opening Hours April 8 – December 20, 2010
From April 8 to December 20, we are open Thursday through Monday, 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The last tour begins at 4:00, and all visitors must be accompanied by a guide while visiting the house. The grounds of the property close at 5:00 except for special programs.
WE ARE CLOSED TUESDAYS & WEDNESDAYS!!!!
Tours are provided every thirty minutes with the last tour at 4:00.
Please note that because some of the interiors at Pope-Leighey are quite small, to ensure that everyone can fully experience the house, tours are limited to no more than 16 visitors per group.
Seasonal Note: While Pope-Leighey does have central a/c, during very hot weather, the volume of visitors and opening and closing of doors may result in warmer-than-usual conditions in the house. While guides will endeavor to ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors, those with respiratory or other heat-sensitive conditions should be prepared to take appropriate precautions.
If you have a group of 10 of more people or have special needs, reservations are required. Please call 703.780.4000 x26333 at least 24 hours prior to the day upon which you wish to visit for reservations.For groups of 20 or more, special tours may be arranged for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with advance reservations. While visiting Pope-Leighey, no dogs are allowed unattended on the property or in vehicles.
There is parking for vehicles (with sticker) of people with disabilities near the house. The Pope-Leighey House has several floor levels and some very narrow passages and doorways, which were features of its original design. Your guide will provide alternative access routes to allow for viewing of most interiors. Any interiors not visible from the alternate route can be viewed in an album on site.
Admission
Admission fees are an integral component of the self-supporting educational efforts of Pope-Leighey House . An historic site of The National Trust for Historic Preservation, Pope-Leighey relies exclusively on your admission, shop purchases and tax-deductible contributions to support its mission.

Woodlawn/Pope-Leighey announces its participation in Blue Star Museums, a partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and more than 700 museums across America. Blue Star Museums offers free admission to all active duty military personnel and up to five members of their immediate families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2010. Woodlawn/Pope-Leighey extends the program to include retired military as well.
